PlayStation Plus subscribers have labeled Sony “anti-consumer” throughout the latest news

PlayStation Plus subscribers on PS4 and PS5 are criticizing Sony after the latest PS Plus news. Sony announced today that it is banning the hoarding of PlayStation Plus and PS Now codes for existing members ahead of the launch of the new PS+ in June, which will add two tiers to the subscription service: PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium. As soon as the new PS + pricing was announced, PlayStation users began to accumulate PlayStation Plus and PS Now codes to get as much profit as possible, but Sony put an end to this loophole.

If you already have icons stacked, you’re fine. Sony does not remove these purchases retroactively. I can not. However, if you don’t jump into the loophole early, you’ve missed out, because it’s no longer possible. Sony says this is a guarantee of “the transition [is] as smoothly as possible.”

“As we prepare to launch the new PlayStation Plus membership service, we are doing some work behind the scenes to make the transition as seamless as possible for all of our existing members,” Sony said of the opportunity. “As part of this work, we have temporarily disabled membership stacking for existing customers even after launch. Rest assured that your voucher code is still valid, and you’ll be able to redeem your code either when your current membership expires and is deactivated, or after PlayStation Plus has launched. new ones in your area, whichever comes first.

Visually, what makes it worse for Sony is the fact that Xbox – with Xbox Game Pass – has allowed Xbox users to take advantage of various vulnerabilities since the service’s inception. Of course, Sony could have eaten the loss of this loophole in favor of some good PR, but to be fair, loopholes like this can quickly turn into millions and millions of dollars in losses. However, while financially understandable, this was not enough to make it palatable to many PlayStation fans.
